SYNOPSIS

  apngopt <INPUT *.gif> [<OUTPUT *.png>]

DESCRIPTION

After converting impage to \s-1APNG\s0 with e.g. gif2apng\|(1), the files size can further be reduced with this utility.

The Animated Portable Network Graphics (\s-1APNG\s0) file format is an extension to the Portable Network Graphics (\s-1PNG\s0) specification. It allows for animated \s-1PNG\s0 files that work similarly to animated \s-1GIF\s0 files, while retaining backward compatibility with non-animated \s-1PNG\s0 files and adding support for 8-bit transparency and 24-bit images.
