Control tape autochanger mtx-changer - wrapper for use with the amanda backup system

Usage

mtx [-f <tape-device>] <command> [<command args>]

mtx-changer <command> [<command args>]

Overview

This manual page documents briefly the mtx command. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution (but may be used by others), because the original program did not have a manual page.

mtx is a program that controls the tape manipulator in a tape autochanger, such as the HP SureStore 12000e. With mtx, it is possible to load and unload tapes, and perform other operations on the autochanger.

The mtx-changer wrapper script implements the commands required by the Amanda backup system. More information on Amanda is available from http://ftp.cs.umd.edu/projects/amanda/amanda.html
