xfce4-shutdown(1)

xfce4-shutdown1

System shutdown command used by xfce4-session(1)

Usage

xfce4-shutdown <action>

Overview

This manual page documents briefly the xfce4-shutdown command. This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

The xfce4-shutdown is used by xfce4-session to either halt, poweroff or reboot the system upon logout. For this to work, the users that are allowed to stop the system need to be allowed to do so via the sudo program or xfce4-shutdown needs to be setuid root and the users listed in the file /etc/xfce4/shutdown.allow.

Options

xfce4-shutdown takes the action to execute as it's sole argument. The value is one of "halt", "poweroff" or "reboot".
