timelimit.netpipes(1)

timelimit.netpipes1

Limit execution time of foreground tasks netpipes 4.2

Usage

timelimit.netpipes [-v] [-nokill] time command args

Overview

timelimit.netpipes is used to limit the amount of foreground wallclock time a process consumes. Once the time limit expires, timelimit.netpipes will kill the process, unless -nokill had been specified.

-v adds some diagnostic messages.

Examples

remote$ timelimit.netpipes 5m faucet 3000 --out cat time-sensitive-info

Credits

Francis Liu <[email protected]> suggested that I modify timelimit so that it doesn't SEGV when invoked with no arguments.

Releases

Unchanged in 7 releases since Debian 7 (Wheezy).
