tab2tag(1)

tab2tag1

Convert a tab seperated file into a tag file

Usage

tab2tag -t fieldname ...

tab2tag -m

Overview

tab2tag takes a tab separated file on standard input, and outputs those fields specified on the command line as a tag file.

If the characters \t or \n occur in the tabbed input then they are converted into real tabs and newlines in the tag format output file.

Options

-m

Mime flag - the input tab file is in the format of the text/tab-separated-values MIME type. The first record in the tab file is the field names used in the data.

Bugs

Does not deal with the cases where the number of fieldnames given on the command line does not match the number of fields in the tab separated file.
