Overview
new_pdb allocates and initializes a new, empty struct pdb structure.
free_pdb frees the memory used by a struct pdb previously returned by new_pdb, as well as any records, resources, AppInfo or sort blocks the database may contain.
Return value
new_pdb returns a pointer to the newly-allocated struct pdb, or NULL in case of error.
