gtkfontsel(1)

gtkfontsel1

A font selector program

Usage

gtkfontsel [-print] [-p text]

Overview

This manual page documents briefly the gtkfontsel command. It was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

gtkfontsel is very similar to xfontsel, but is hopefully much easier to use. After selecting a font, you can use the 'Copy Font Name' button to copy the font name to the clipboard, so you can easily paste it into another application.

It also supports the '-print' command line option which will print the selected font name to stdout when the user hits 'Exit'.

Options

-print

Makes the program print the selected font name to stdout when the user hits 'Exit'.

-p text

Set the text for the preview window.

Releases

3 releases since Debian 3.0 (Woody); the text changed 1 time.

  1. 3.0–3.1
  2. 4.0

-p since Debian 4.0 (Etch).
