## NAME

gitcmp - GNU Interactive Tools version 4.3.6 - file compare utility

## SYNTAX

*gitcmp file1 file2*

## DESCRIPTION

*gitcmp* is a file compare utility. It outputs to **stderr**, *git* catching its error messages this way. *gitcmp* was designed to be used in **$HOME/.gitrc.TERM**(**git**'s configuration file) and should not be used as a stand alone program. See also  **CONFIGURATION FILES** in the *git* manual page.

## BUGS

These manual page is obsolete.  It documents version 4.3.5 of the GNU Interactive Tools package.  Only the GIT's info documentation is being updated.
