The cinfo database description must be written using the grammars below, used by the cinfo database compiler. The yacc grammar of the cinfo format is:

		/* empty */
		| object_list

		'(' string variable_list_opt object_list_opt ')'
		;
variable_list_opt:
		/* empty */
		| variable_list

variable_list:
		variable_list variable
		| variable
		;
variable:
		identifier '=' string
		;
string:
		STRING
		;
identifier:
		IDENTIFIER
		;
%%

The Backus-Naur Form grammar of the cinfo format is:

<cinfo-database> ::= [ { <object> } ]
<object> ::= '(' <object-name-string> [ { variable } ] [ { object } ] ')'
<variable> ::= <variable-identifier> '=' <variable-value-string>
<object-name-string> ::= <string>
<variable-value-string> ::= <string>
<variable-identifier> ::= [-a-zA-Z_][-a-zA-Z_0-9]*
